Isabel Aftermath at Smith Creek

Please don't be alarmed by these pictures. Smith Creek recovered from Hurricane Isabel just as she has from previous high water conditions. The fish hunkered down deep in the water and if we lost any fish downstream, it wasn't many.

9/19 Smith Creek flowing into our neighbor's field - at the first ford.
Check out  the high water mark on the tree across the stream.
This is where we usually cross the stream - not today!

9/19 River bend below Kevin's honey hole. Shot from neighbor's side looking back at the bend. Lower end of our large field on left. What happened to the high banks? All of the grass in this picture was underwater Friday morning.

9/19 Looking downstream from where the picture above was taken.
Wide, deep & fast water.

9/19 Emergency spillway at Culvert Bridge before cleanup. Watercress washed up on the roadbed.  The water level was up in the mulberry flat, pictured in the farground, during the high water.
Where are the culverts on this culvert bridge?
They're completely submerged but fortunately the road didn't blow out.
